Reasons & Symptoms:

Diabetes is due to either the pancreas not producing enough insulin or the cells of the body not responding properly to the insulin produced. Serious long-term complications include damage to the eyes, heart disease, stroke, chronic kidney failure and foot ulcers. There are two main types of diabetes mellitus. Type 1 diabetes mellitus was previously referred to as "juvenile diabetes". Type 2 diabetes mellitus was previously referred to as "adult-onset diabetes".
